the coolest thing to me about nature is the way it always balances light and dark equally. there is and always will be death and destruction for the purpose of birth and creation and possibly vice versa. nature knows that rolling with the crazy is the only way to go, and its the tallest, stiffest trees that fall first as the wind and rain whips through the more flexible plants with ease. being friends with the shadow, the darkness and death brings about growth and creativity and change. being able to walk through the rain and still see the rainbow is the goal. lead into gold was only ever transmuting terrible conditions into ones of enlightenment. and who knows, maybe you're looking at it wrong. the system is so bankrupt today that sometimes vice is virtue and virtue, vice. the point is, nature and the universe know what they are doing. if you're going through a storm, it's because you need a shower. pray for the gold at the end of the rainbow, but know that it comes from accepting the darkness so that you may know the light.

when you can do this, when you understand that darkness is beautiful, important, and a respite from all the light, you can do just about anything. if you can sit with conflicting views, light and dark, and synthesize them inside of yourself towards a new, inclusive solution, you can do anything. you know that you can because you've been there when things go south. you are familiar with the feelings, words, process of allowing a part of yourself to die. the part of you that is getting in the way, that only sees one side of an argument, must die so that a new self, that can see synthesis can move in.

but once you allow your old self to die and usher in a new self, it is fabulous. you get to sort of ride your own coat tails. once your mind, body and spirit realign, your environment follows suit. when you die a spiritual death it creates a great deal of new energy in your physical life. all the emotional, mental and physical work you did to let go of your past, binary view translates into new energy that will unfold in your environments. there may be a little static from the world about your new self, but it should clear up if what you are doing is on the right path for you. so sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride you worked so hard for!
